 :congrats:

I've been looking into astrophotography but think I need to do some more research first.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

 :congrats: Very impressive!

I know nothing about spacey things. How do you know the path or location of the ISS Rich, is it via a tracking system of some sort?

Saw it once at altitude, the tropopause is atmospheric layer that above the air gets really really clear.

Anyway we were high and it was low and we got pretty much best view anybody's going to get of it with the naked eye, we see shooting stars regularly up there but they don't have a flashing beacon like the ISS....sort of gave it away.

Sort of had a 10 second WTF before my FO told me what it was and saved my embarrassment I was just about to call up to have it intercepted!

Good pic.....hugely long exposure ??

Thanks Dave. Not a long exposure, I think it was a few hundredths of a second.

I was going to take a "star trail" long exposure of it to show it moving but couldn't find my tripod plate.  :fighting:

Will be going round to my brothers tonight as he has a (never used) home telescope. I told him about the ISS (yesterday) and he had a look for it but only managed to find the moon! We could be a long time.  :stupid:

EDIT: found all the info here........

http://iss.astroviewer.net/observation.php

Just found out we've got 5:51 minutes to see it.
