Missfire
« on: April 25, 2013, 03:23:41 pm »
I have posted numerous times about a lumpy idle but have now noticed that's its not all the time now so I got myself vag com and it shows a missfire on cylinder 2 but like only a few misfires I swapped cylinder 2 coilpack onto number 4 but still misses on 2 so that rules out the coilpack that's faulty any suggestions

Swapped the spark plug?

If it still stays on that cyl, then injector...

Mine has this on cylinder 4 on idle only.Causing cold start poor running and idle speed missfire.

it improoved recently with Terraclean and injector cleaner but its slowly coming back.

Car is at JKM currently being investigated.

Sounds like you have a possible injector failure like I think mine is.

Will know by tomorrow from JKM what's the fault is for deffo.

I had the same issue on cylinder 3.

Only thing to cure it was a new injector.  It was perfect after the new injector.

Identical fault to mine. Totally fine on the road, upto 1800 rpm and below it missfire's.

Turn on the aircon, it improves, turn off the aircon, its misfires on average about 60 times a minute

Mine always counted misfires a idle.  The misfire under high load was very intermittent but was gradually getting worse.

It started as misfire at idle only.

Bloody cars lol it's more annoying than actually being a problem one minute it's fine next it's like someone is rocking the car slightly

Mine logged in auto scan but also in basic measuring (blocks 14 & 15 from memory) the miss fire stopped counting when I pressed the throttle but its because detection was disabled when the throttle was pressed from what I could see

I haven't heard of any K03 GTI injectors failing, just K04 engines.

I'm trying to sell a K03 injector as I bought one as a "just in case"
