1.9 TDI - Lowering Advice

Im needing new shocks and springs on my MK5 1.9 TDI, thinking lowering springs but not sure what size to go.
I've got 18" Pescaras on. Also considering but don't want too stiff a ride.
What've you got? any recommendations?
Cheers

Eibach or H&R springs are you main choices and can be matched with standard shocks, or Bilstein shocks. Both give a slightly firmer ride than stock but by no means uncomfortable.
Both state -35mm but in reality H&R are the only ones that are -35mm (Eibach don't got quite as low).
Hope that helps.
