Top mounts
« on: May 14, 2013, 05:59:52 pm »
Im going to be fitting some coilovers to my car and as I'm changing the dampers i may as well change the top mounts while i'm at it.

I just want to know what you guys suggest, i don't want to spend mega bucks by buying camber adjustable ones for £300.

Ive seen that There are potentially more durable OEM top mounts available in Audi's.

If anyone can give me their suggestions and also any part numbers if possible that would be great.

Cheers
Cal

Leon Cupra Top Mounts are the same as TT ones, give Dave as Seremotors a call, and he will do you a great price

Do a search. I've posted part numbers several times.

There are two available:

1. OE Audi TT / RS3 / Leon Cupra mounts ( 8J0 part number )

2. 034 Motorsport track densitity mounts

The axial bearing remains the same on these.

I thought that the 034 ones had been found to be the same as the TT ones.

$ 99,-- in the US:

In the US OE TT mounts are expensive while in Europe TT mounts are much cheaper than 034 mounts.

Get the cheaper ones, technically both are fine !!

I ended up just fitting all OEM parts.

Just for reference if anyone needs these in the future heres Part numbers and prices: -

Rear top mounts 1K0 513 353 G   £21.03 each
Front top mounts 1KO 412 331 B   £24.60 each
Front top mount bearings 6N0 412 249 C    £13.04 each
Rear bump rubbers 1K0 511 353 N    £13.02 each
Rear dust covers 1K0 513 425 A    £2.08 Each

Hope this is of help to anyone fitting new suspension.

Its worth noting that while changing rear springs i noticed mine had corroded at the bottom and one had snapped. worth checking, as it had given me a 10mm difference in ride height and cant have been doing the handling any favours.
