Regal Autosport built MK5 R32 Turbo (C2 motorsports St2)
« on: August 07, 2009, 05:54:44 pm »
We took this to the Castle Combe track day and it generated a fair amount of interest, so he's a quick build thread on the car.

I'll try and get one sorted for the Gti in the not-too-distant future.

I've had a few pm's since from people asking for a build thread on the car, and the lads have said its ok... so, well.. here it is :)

It started with the importing of the kit, for which Regal are now distributers.

which has a Precision Billet 62 Dual BB Turbo

and 38mm Tial external wastegate

Its the Stage 2 Kit so includes....

Precision Billet 62 Dual BB Turbo
Cast Exhaust Manifold
3" Stainless Steel Downpipe
Tial 38mm WG
Front Mounted Intercooler 22" x 8" x 3.5" Bar and Plate type that keeps all factory grilles and bumper
SS 3" Mid-Pipe Kit
3" SS Hi-Flow Cat
SS Intake Piping
C2 Performance Software
Larger Injectors
Injector Harness
4" Open Element
"The Bat" 4" SS Intake w/MAF
Diverter Valve
All Necessary Silicone
SS T-Bolt Clamps
SS Braided Oil Feed/Return Lines
Oil Fittings
SS Lowered CR Head Spacer
Raceware Performance Head Studs

but we will be adding a C2 Fuel Pump Kit and an electronic Boost Controller along with software alterations to suit in the future to develop more power.

The objective with this car is to make a UK specific kit and see what power is possible with it in the uk. There was a packaging issue in the engine bay to overcome so a number of things had to be altered from the US spec kit. This has now been done and the car is finished :)

so the tear down began and the front end of the car was dis-assembled.

and the aircon degassed.

and the radiators removed

next up was to remove the head to put the head stud and head spacer kit in.

and the head back on with the turbo manifold installed.

and the turbo hung on the manifold...

and tucked up for the night

and all sewn up -

the intercooler is super subtle....

but of course you cant just upgrade the engine, so a set of Tar-ox brakes and AP coilovers were installed.. along with a set of VF-Engineering engine and transmission mounts.
