do i need to start thinking time to buy a clutch

Ok this may sound odd but hoping to get some feed back , got a 2.0 tdi 140 bhp but its had a remap and surpossed to be 190bhp not sure how true the bhp is , the clutch peddle just seems to be soft its not slipping but just have a feeling the something not right it just seems lazy the car turbo kicks in at 2000rpm just feels loose the golf covered 110k, sorry for the vague ness
if it not rubbing it aint dubbing

Wouldn't worry to much mines the same. Thought it was on its way out but got a mechanic i know to look at it, he said its most likely the dual mass fly wheel. On the other side 6months in and its still going.

That's for the reply hopefully mine be like yours but I going to get a mechanic to have a look over it has a need a couple of jobs doing just wanted to get a different take on it . just last owner not been the most honest about the golf so far  :mad:

If it's done 110k with the same clutch and DMF then it'll be due one really, false economy just replacing one at a time too.
Any vibrations, or rattling? My DMF has gone on both my 1.9 and 2.0 TDI's before the clutch plates.

Any history of your brake fluid being done? It's recommended every two years, so a fluid change and bleed of the whole system could help your clutch pedal.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

not to sure if its on the same clutch and dmf  so I think I may get them changed for piece of mind as not wanting to get rid of the golf anytime soon
has for brake fluid that's another unknown so will deff be getting that changed this week , no vibrations or rattling , its just 1 of those un easy feelings I getting that there something not 100 % but cant put my finger on it .

I'd wait until the DMF/clutch starts showing decent signs of failure before going to the expense... Defo do the brake fluid though.

think that's the way I going to go with it just been looking into prices just not a bill can pay at min with not working , just been looking into the dv thread about being it first gear and slow pull of so going to check that first , deff getting fluids done if my mechanic mate ever answeres his phone lol

The clutch fluid shares the reservoir with brake fluid. Theory has it over time the fluid absorbs moisture, this is why VW recommend every two years it is changed.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.

Don't bother buying a clutch until it starts to slip
Symptons of DMF failure are judder that goes away when clutch is pressed
harsh juddering throughout the car when accelerating hard at a low RPM in a high gear.
