Thanks bud. Yeah spent about, well, 13-15 hours. I lost count really. Was from 2pm-10pm on and off on Sunday and 8am to 10pm on the Monday with a couple of little breaks.

Yesterday we went to change the LCA bushes front and rear and do the cam follower. I had attempted to do this myself before however as mine has the 2 metal pipes, I only found out I didn't have the M8 multispline after I had taken off every other bolt and the main metal connection..

First of all we changed the cam follower which I cannot tell was changed (not mentioned in the history) and it was in very good condition I'd say for a near 90k car.

We went to get the bushes out and one bolt was being very awkward.
In the end it snapped.  :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

We got the console off only to find that it was not a genuine console and the TT Mk2 bush did not fit into it. So bear that in mind by buying cheap aftermarket bits.. OE bushes WILL NOT FIT.
In the end I have to leave my car with my friend for him to get the snapped bolt out the subframe.

Whoever fitted them did not apply any copper grease so the steel bolt corroded in the ally housing.

Luckily the other side had a genuine console housing, I suspect the bushes on the right hand side were replaced in the past.. not concerned as these cars as we know eat the bushes for breakfast.

Anyway a new console bush from VW (Genuine) and the TT Mk2 bushes are pressed in with no problems.
All going back together and my mate text me it's done.

Thanks to Moores Motors again love my man Jamie for sorting me out  :ashamed:

Been busy with some shows lately.

Players, Edition obviously, camping holiday to the Isle of Weight, this sunday we're going to be at Westside

Not been the best few days unfortunately.
I was in a pretty serious car accident.

Driving down a main A-road a woman was tailgaiting us the whole way. So close we could not see her headlights!!!  As we approached a roundabout leading onto a dual carriadgeway she backed off and the next thing I know, we've facing the wrong way and her car is deep within some foliage. The road was a 50mph limit at the time, I reckon she hit us at at least 50, more like 60. We got span 180 and ended up on a grassy verge.. it all seemed so slow motion at the time.. Everyone says that but you never really realise it until it happens.

The car with the boot open (Merc) was an off duty police office who was actually the most helpful of them all... on-duty coppers didn't really seem bothered at all. They reluctantly took my name and address and a brief statement. The paramedic got more information than the police did from me!!!

The car on the left with the 2 guys who stopped to help,  about 20 feet infront of them is the womans car (who hit us) in the bush (not in that picture), then you can our car sat the wrong way on the exit of the roundabout lol

Nursing a lot of neck pain. On some pretty strong painkillers which is kind of trippy but not doing much for the pain unfortunately. Sicky feeling not helping.

.... thankfully it was not in my car. In my mates Corsa VXR. Not nice for him, he bought it brand new, 62 plate, 12k on the clock. Rear floor plan all pushed up, carpet looked like it was pitching a tent in the boot - rear 3/4 all damaged and scuffed, drivers door, front wing/bumper, nearside wheels, almost certainly a write off. :(

A couple of photos to lift the mood from WED meet on Saturday where I limped to the day after the crash (which happened Friday night around 10;30). Not a good idea the pain from driving was agony.

I did notice some sanding marks in the bonnet from the respray job.
I must have missed them when I was looking over the car. Following a falling out with the bodyshop due to their piss poor customer service and one member of staffs particularly terrible attitude, yes Shaun I'm talking to you -  (Ridgeway Paint and Body Center in Newbury) That's another thing I'm going to have to tackle myself. We'll see if we can machine it out. If not I'll speak to a buddy who does professional detailing (the kind chap who did my whiles) who can wet sand (I'm not comfortable wet sanding my car lol)

But need to wait till I'm better for that.

Hope all is well with everyone anyway. If you're at Westside come say hi.

 Not good about the accident.

Re the sanding marks. Buy a m tract pad. Use it wet on the areas effected. Then a rotary and 3m fast cut and they will come right out.

Had a few things added.. mainly I picked up my winter wheels on Friday! Which were nicely boxed for me. They are not perfect and I'm contemplating refurbing them before fitting but I'll see how money is.

Going to have some dents removed over the coming weeks as well.
Few bits of bodywork going in for paint when they arrive. Hopefully to get fitted before show and glow..

Yesterday we had westside which was nice to hang out with all my friends. Very chilled out environment and even better coming away with runner up in the Mk5 class  :popcornsoda: :pomppomp:

Well chuffed with that and completely unexpected   :happy2:

and also got some pretty awesome MPG on the last 4 days of driving.. so many miles!!  :scared: :scared:
