Read every page of your S3 build thread on Audi-sport.net, by far one of the nicest S3's around so props on that one Jonny.

Can't wait to see what you do with the MK5!!

                Here's Johnny

Welcome to the forum Johnny.

I love crazy people and you my friend definitely are  in the sense of modding cars that is.
I loved both your last 2 and i am sure this will be no different. the S3 was stunning and i often took a blimp at your GTI on page 6 of members rides GolfGTIforum. co.uk.

It will be really interesting to see if you can get all that power down through the DSG never mind the front wheel drive.  :rolleye: Cant wait.

Matt thats awesome, think I should be fine after looking at them!! They look like they are running 225/40's?? Ill be running 215's too so thats another 5mm clearance at the arch..

Also ordered a set of KW camber adjustable top mounts for the front struts, will be able to get some negative on the front which will really help with handling, the MK5 is screaming out for more negative camber on the front, will also help with clearance too so pleased about that!!

Thanks mate, yeah the S3 did look great, no reason to sell apart from I wanted to start again with something new.. Its already going pretty well..

Yeah its going to be a challenge, but DSG re-map, Clutch packs and DSG LSD will sort all of that out  :happy2:

This one is going to look a little different to the last GTI, as much as it can being the same colour anyways!!

Little update..

Intake is on and looks great, went out for a drive this morning and its working really well.. Lots more urgency when it comes on boost and pulls a lot harder at the top end of the rev range!

Got a few more bits to sort out on it, going to change the silicone coupler for a silicone bellow.. As the intake is hard mounted to the chassis and at the other end the turbo with the engines movement there is a chance it could work its self loose.. That should address the potential issue, also when the VF engine mounts are fitted there is pretty much no engine movement so there will be nothing to worry about then!

Got to polish the MAF heat shield and fit that, and working on a filter heat shield with an integrated cold air feed pulling air from my freshly installed open fog grilles

All coming along nicely!  :happy2:

Good stuff have you considered the white line anti-lift kit to help with traction, every litlle helps as they say and its pretty cheap.

Having the S3 items fitted to the car at the same time as the coils go on (friday) They are very similar, probably not as stiff as the whiteline versions as the S3 part is still rubber and not poly like the other kit..

The thing with poly bushing suspension is that really its best to do it all at the same time as stiffening up bush will mean that 'more' load is applied onto the next weakest bush so you end up chasing your tail until the whole car has been done.. My car is a road car so im not that bothered about bushes, ARB's etc.. I wont take it on a circuit etc and probably wont have it that long, parts like that are very difficult to get any money back on when you sell the car..
