it reduces the distance traveled from side to side when you change gear. makes eveything feel tighter and closer on gear change. the short shift alone adjusts the front to back distance  :happy2:

I have the adjustable front back forge shifter on my 57 leon and am having issues with it.  Itgrinds 3rd and feels like it needs to go further to the right to get it into 5th...
Also when in 1st or 2nd, even thoughits in gear the stick springs back to the center!   :'(

Sounds like Dbilas off battery out.  Cant figure out why the shifter would spring back to the middle makes me really cautious changing 2nd to third and slow 4th to 5th.

It does it when in 5th and 6th too :'(

piece of p*ss mike. take you intake out, battery can stay where it is, no need to move it. you'll be able to access the adjustment nut from the top,

if not take the linkages off. (make sure your in neutral, plus put a nail in the linkage below your gear stick for when it is tighten it up) the left hand linkage has a circular circlip, slide that off and it'll pop up, the right hand linkage is a pain in the ass, i got mine off by sliding needle nose pliers behind and levering it out.

should be easy for a fitter like yourself, shouldnt be taking hints off a sparky mate, lol  :P

i can show you on PDF if need be, or if it can wait until chatham im there on from 11th and ill sort it for you.

LOL, I still am to this day! Been mailed a potential solution today, and hopefully will be able to report back on Sunday evening whether it has actually worked!!

Yeah the bolt that adjusts the throw could be loose, or even the main bolt that holds the whole shifter assembly down to the gearbox. That sounds more likely to me....

The big bolt, you can't miss it, its the one in the centre of both shifter arms, try to see if it is all tight!
