Hi chaps,
just a quick one - was looking to inspect the condition of my cam follower yesterday seeing as i was bored and figured it could be due a change soon.
So starts off removing the fuse for the HPFP, ran the engine till it conked to get the pressure down, whipped the airbox off snapping everything as per usual, and then started on the HPFP. Reading some other guides, i followed the steps as applicable removing the solenoid cabling etc, breather pipe to the right of the pump. then depressurised pump further using the scroeder valve on the right hand side of the pump before removing this altogether with a 13mm. Having already bathed in vpower for about 15 mins, i was waiting for someone to walk round the corner with a ciggy hanging out there mouth, but this didnt happen.
I then moved onto removing the bottom 17mm main fuel line, and this is where i started hitting problems.
I cracked the nut off and started winding it down, but there still seemed to be a f*ck load of fuel in there (under pressure). I wound the nut back a bit and waited a good min or two for the pressure to come down, but it never did. So - to anyone whos done this, should iust plough on regardless, or have i missed something. Is there an in tank pump thats still getting pressure down the fuel line even though ive pulled the fuse for the hpfp?
Any help appreciated!
