Is this a high mileage related thing?

Until this last month or so I had never head of a single TB failure, now ive heard of loads!!

So are these 70mm TB upgrade options more reliable?

Not been on much as been busy with work and sorting the cars - been swapping them.

Hopefully we won't need to bother again and these new units last longer !

I have warranty with WarrantyDirect - which I was in two minds to take out, glad I did now as that's covered it.

Gaz,  just spotted your thread - seems like its getting a little too common.

Whats the going rate for warranty direct?  I was looking at them for a potential Audi S6/BMW M5 type purchase and they were quoting around £800 for the year  :surprised:

Started around £600 but eventually for it for just under £400 for Luxury Cover, Airbags and emissions (I didn't want this but it made no difference taking it off once I got the price down) and main dealer rates too  - so I can still go to the dealer if I wanted, if I get it again next year I might go any VAT registered garage if its reasonably cheaper.

VW garage told me it would be around £550 from them as its AWD - no negotiation.

Also I called well before VW warranty expired, had the follow up calls, kept putting them off etc etc, eventually called up on the day it was 3yrs old meaning as it was still in VW warranty I was covered from day 1 rather than the 90day before any claim period.
