Unmarked Old Bill R32 Today
« on: August 13, 2009, 09:43:36 pm »
Saw it on the M6, around 3.00pm, just before the A14 junction, edge of Northants.

It had pulled over an Audi A6 on the hard shoulder. The R looked absolutely stunning. I know it's been seen before, just was pleasantly surprised on such a dull journey home down from Warrington.

Was an 08 plate, dark grey 5 door for anyone who drives at velocity down that stretch. Didn't get the rest of the plate. Not that it'd be hard to spot.

Wish I'd of got a pic, cause the main reason I posted was just cause it looked awesome with all the strobes in the rear clusters and above the rear quarters. Also, I'm surprised they use them. It can't be cost effective on fuel or running costs. Pretty immense they do though! I've seen pre-facelift Focus ST's on the M6 with similar kit unmarked, guess this would be Worcestershire police?

Again, I'm sure a T5 or Vectra V6 would be cheaper all round. Glad the law see the cool side to cars though too  :happy2:

Seen this one a few times now. Would like to come across him while I'm in my R and see if he acknowledges the car or not!

Yeah he was spotted by Hedge not long ago, the reg is in his thread.

Good spot though, anyone with an R up their ass would be tempted to floor it!

I would doubt it, the cops i have spoken to in units like that have little interest in cars  :rolleye: Doesnt mean that some of them arent enthusiasts...

In my experience it's the other way round - most people in Traffic love cars and/or bikes ..... that's from the 7+ years so far I've been in Traffic in the Met.     It doesn't mean they are going to want to acknowledge you in another Golf though

Agree, everyone at my station is mad on cars, Def know what tehy are talking about.
I sometimes try and get a sly wink to GTI drivers, even when im in a marked Vectra, forgetting that I am at work.  :stupid:

I saw that R32 on the M40 today! Did look very smart trundling along the inside lane. I passed it about 80 and gave a wave to the driver :P
