New engine in edition 30
« on: July 01, 2013, 04:41:43 pm »
got an edition 30 which needs a rebuild brought 75% of stuff to rebuild it for revo stage 4 with gtx30 turbo

now im debating holding it off untill next winter and enjoying the car a little for the remaining summer.. so the plan in mind now is to buy a new motor and build my existing blown engine next year.. i have been looking at engines and belive the edition 30 is a BYD? i have found a CDL which is from a golf r or s3 i belive? will this go straight in plug and play with no problems i presume it will?

many thanks

I think it's a straight swap, just the mapping maybe needs altering.
Do you know why the original blew up?

Check with boroscope (sp) there is nothing down and run it? A couple of people have had it happen, it is down to worn plugs or poor map IMO.  Or have you had more problems?

my tuner a revo dealer done a borescope and found some slight damage.. we chucked new plugs in all was okay for a few weeks then started getting some slight missfires on idle.. car run fine otherwise then started burning oil at one point after about 10minutes of it doing this i had to pull over on hard shoulder car is running on 3 now
