SPS fuel saving settings
« on: July 10, 2013, 01:31:50 pm »
Please don't throw rocks at me if this seems stupid or it was discussed in another thread :) but I was wondering what SPS settings will give the best fuel economy (of course combined with a light right foot :) ).

Just switch the car to revo stock mode.
Alternatively set F to 9 (if it's not there already) and turn down your present boost level.

Without traction power is nothing!

I thought valet mode might be useful here?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Ah yes but there is no fixed valet setting on the sps switch so the user has to choose his/her own valet boost setting.

Boost 0 should be valet mode and 1 stock. It's a little bit dangerous to travel in valet mode due to the 3500rpm limit and lack of boost.

Really? So my old fiesta which struggled at anything above 3000rpm and was n/a was dangerous?

I'm know very well the lack of power feeling from previous cars but that was expected...

So for fuel economy just take the boost down and let the timing to what ever is suited for the used petrol and fuel 9.

I'm pretty sure that bit of info is only applicable to an APR map in valet mode.
