They will probably say they cant do it. For people who work there, they dont seem to know much at times...

Most dealers aren't big fans of retrofitting in my experience.

A local small indy might be more helpful. Or a custom car/van/hotrod builder?

i am in the same boat mate, and have done quite a bit of looking into it

if you wanted VW to do it, and theres very few that would attempt it, its going to cost in the region of £600

i have also spoke to a few automotive electricians who say it would be alot of work to make up the wiring and such

the cheapest and easiest option i have found  is to buy the loom from kufatec - http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/Volkswagen/Golf/Golf-5-/-Golf-5-Plus-1K/Seat-Heating-Harness-VW-Golf-5

and you will also need to buy the new control panel suitable for your car

then either get an auto electrician to fit, or another forum member made this easy to follow guide - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,62645.0.html

hope this helps mate :)

Seriously though in THIS weather why would you want leather  :stupid:

Silly hot when the car has been standing, you stick to them, and end up with a sweaty back

Cloth seats FTW  :driver:

Fair point.

What about leather wings and Alcantara/Microfiber center section with nice tyre tread shaped groves to aid airflow under the cheeks???

^^ the cloth & leather could work well. It's leather in the centre that's best avoided IMHO

I retrofitted heated leathers into my old mk5, you don't need a specialist.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
