Not been using the Golf so much as work means star ship miles so got a daily driver (nothing exciting, just a Skoda Diesel) I really miss the power but needs must....
Not lost the love for the Golf though so spent some time on her today.
Iv been wanting to swap the seatbelts for a while to the Edition 35 belts as they have a red strip on the sides and I thought they would finish off my interior well. I got the belts from
@kylej1 who was trying to fit them to an Audi S3, but he was unable to do it as the rear tensioners are completely different and wouldn't work.
When I got them I decided to give them a clean as they were out the car and it was easy enough to do - I was amazed how dirty they were!!
To get to the belts meant having to rip the interior out the car again
When I had the interior out last time I managed to smash some of the drivers side rear door card fixings so I took the opportunity to install new ones as it was bugging the hell out of me knowing they weren't there
Once I got the units out I needed to take the belts out of the original tensioners so pulled it to full extension then held on tight!!
Worked the belt out so the pin can be extracted
Brace the tensioner so it doesn't unwind - that would be a massive problem!!
Install new belt making sure its the right belt, in the right position and the anti rattle bunch of fabric is facing the right way. Push pin in so it fits flush with belt then pull through making sure its seated properly
Rears fitted, also showing the old belt next to the Edition 35 belts
Fronts fitted
Then I re fitted the interior and all is done
By the time I finished it was pitch black outside so this picture is not the best but you can see the front and rear belts on the seats. Hope you all approve?
