Air con parts
« on: July 18, 2013, 10:43:47 am »
Just went and got my air-con re-gassed in the hope that would sort the no air-con issue I've been having. Turns out not. Although there is no leak, the air-con isn't turning on. They reckon that it is either the air-con pump of the pressure sensor that is broken, but would need some time to check. As they order their parts from GSF or Euro Car Parts, i'd rather not go down the third party route.

Anybody know the part numbers for either part? A price would be appreciated too, though I can get that myself  :happy2:

OK so after some research it's quite possible the compressor has failed, which is a common fault that VW don't offer to fix. £550 for the compressor then labour... :sad1:

im on a similar thing for my caddy. There was a High pressure sensor G65 fault on VCDS. i have had it regassed at kwik fit but still didnt work and the error came back after clearing it.

i ordered a new sensor from VW @ just less than £50 and fitted it myself. The error cleared and has not come back, just LOW PRESSURE, so Its in at VW now getting regassed. Picking it up later today so hopefully just sensor was fooked.

Don't rule out the condenser - had mine with VW twice after having it regassed and they couldn't find a leak until they took the front of the car apart and found that the condenser was the culprit / the dryer recover part to be exact
VCDS cable HEX-USB+CAN. New but can do the basics including coding

When I had it re-gassed they vacuumed it and it held the vacuum, so fingers crossed, there is no leak.
