Radio Upgrade and Fitting
« on: July 24, 2013, 04:11:15 pm »
Hello,
I'm currently serving on a tour in sunny Afghanistan and I need a question answering.  I have a 2005 Golf with the standard radio fitted with the cd multi changer in the centre armrest.  The aerial is built into the rear windscreen.  Can a newer model (perhaps one with a Sat Nav) be fitted without any problems?  I would imagine that an aerial must be fitted externally too.  Can anyone give me a complete cost for the unit and fitting, and how long would it take?  If it is reasonable and close to where I live I would be interested.  I return at the end of October.  A price is good enough for now.  Thanks in advance.

You would need a new can gateway, otherwise ul have battery drain. Rns510 can be £350 - £800ish depending on model. Can gateway approx £100. Fitting takes an hour or so??

Where do you live?
