Both my tdi dual mass flywheels made a metallic rattling just before I replaced them, if genuinely worried have a good garage look t it.
Is it inconsistent?
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

........my ED30 started doing this a few days ago. It was the fuel lines & was fixed by doing the guide in this thread. Couple of extra cable ties to hold it even more secure & perfect no more rattle.
ED35. Standard factory condition.

the more I think about it I think it could have something to do with the duel mass flywheel as when I had brake fluid changed other week I mention to the guy about the clutch and he did say it didn't seem right , but until they opened the gearbox up couldn't say if it was pressure plate or hydrolic leak ? or fly wheel so I think better get credit card ready

If replacing a DMF or clutch kit you're best replacing everything at once, as either failing will take out the other one.

My metallic rattling disappeared with new complete kits, but it is a big expense to spend on an idea.
