rns 510 help needed
« on: August 01, 2013, 04:43:54 pm »
I have installed a rns 510 to my 56 plate mk5 golf and im having a few issues.
1st issue is that the display for audio and sat nav is not showing on my high line display and the multi function on the steering is not working with the rns. Only thing that works is the volume buttons.
2nd issue is that when im playing cds from the cd changer the sound is crackly and does not sound right.
3rd issue is I have a kufatec fiscon blue tooth factory fitted and I cant hear no sound from the stereo. It is very very low.

All these issues worked perfectly until I fitted the rns 510.

All input is appreciated

1)You need someone with vcds to code your gateway so that it knows you have a sat nav.

2) you will need to swap one or two wires in the harness to properly ground your cd unit.

I had someone to put it onto vag com and he activated that it had sat nav, it didnt make no difference though.
He told me to do some research into it as he didn't know much about it

1 sounds like BAP is enabled on the 510 which won't allow those menus to display,  untick this option,

2 the track up down buttons won't work until your on the audio menu in the mfd so this also relates to 1

Get the programming redone by someone who actually knows what there doing
