Engine bay cleaning

What are the best products to use for cleaning the engine bay.

I've just done mine ...used autobrite jaffa clean ..agitated with a brush then power washed ...dried with blower then coated with autobrite engine protectant ..oh and don't forget to bag the alternator ..

I've used Meguiars APC to good effect before. As mentioned above, agitated but rinsed off with a small watering can as not to soak everything and most importantly, keep water/moisture from the electrics.

Afterwards, seal with Aerospace 303 sealant and your bay will just wipe clean in the future!  :drinking:

Can anyone help with what electrics need to be protected... dunno if someone could point out on a pic of the engine bay... gonna do mine soon as I am fitting a twin take and new engine cover... just want to make sure I protect everything that needs doing...

I just make sure the alternator is covered in a plastic bag and I don't direct the jet wash lance too close to fusebox or battery etc ...you need some all purpose cleaner too ...

I have some of the autobright jaffa degreaser... what about where your coils are?

Maybe just don't direct the lance at them or cover with a bag ? The only place I put the lance directly was the inner wings and tbh the small karchers aren't that powerful
