"ED30 is a competent car

R32 not the fastest car but its dripping in soul"

FWD is cool when your moving on a dry road and want to accelerate, 4WD puts every one of those 250 horses down every time, wet or dry with a great sound out of the exhaust  :notworthy:

If you want pub bragging figures and lots of torques, the Ed30 is for you  :happy2:

After going around the Nurburgring as a passenger in a mk5 R32, I'm very much in awe of how much grip they have

Better brakes too

Had a mk4 R32 and now have an ed30. R32 for me every time, not as fast no but such a better car on our UK roads. The running costs are higher but I never once got out of that car without a smile on my face. The ed30 even at stage 1 just doesn't do that for me, plus FWD sucks after being used to the Haldex system!

Thing I hated about the mk4 was the seats they were just too bloody big for the car if you ask me I even toyed with getting another and pulling the seats out and dropping in some recaro pole positions as for me that would have made the car more enjoyable and less like being in an armchair

As an ex ed30 owner my advice is to buy whichever you like the most  :happy2:

Both great cars and asking which one to buy on any forum will only end up one way.... 6 page thread, an argument between the 2 most fanatic ed30 and R32 members and you still no wiser as to which car strangers on the Internet think you should buy...
