Eibach sportline or pro
« on: September 05, 2013, 07:28:07 pm »
On my last service it was pointed out that the rear springs had signs of corrosion, so i thought the time had come to improve the springs. Not wanting to go much lower than stock, also funds wont stretch to coil overs. I see Eibach springs get a good write up, was wondering which to go for sportline or Pro. am i right in thinking they will give a 30mm drop, as i have 18" monzas, also dont want any problems with speed bumps. which should i go for? and any links to a good reputable seller. last question is this a DIY job or best left for a garage.
Thanks In Advance :happy2:

H&R

Sportline's are lower than pro. From what iv seen, pro hardly lowers the car

My current GTI has Eibach pro which lowers the car only fractionally, a nice amount IMO without sacrificing ride etc..

My old edition 30 had VWR springs which are basically rebranded sportlines, although it sat lower and looked a bit better ride was sacrificed. Later this was upgraded to Bilstein b12 susp, best compromise IMO

I've got sportines on mines and can't fault them!

My mate has h&r on his s3 and they don't seem as firm as the sportines

£100+ labour and you'll need full 4 wheel alignment done as well, around £80+. Prices vary a lot depending on who you use, how long they take and the wheel alignment company you use.

I've had Sportlines and H&R's with OEM shocks

The H&R's are better all round. Smoother on bobbly roads and less body roll in the fast corners so better grip and handling.
Potholes and bigger imperfections are felt a bit more but other than that the H&R'S win!  :drinking:
