Can't believe how much stuff has been found on this.
Absolutely unreal that people can get away with this once, let alone numerous times.
Thanks so much for all the information, please keep it coming. :drinking:

there's a Paul Woodward thread on Edition 38 as well. he seems a right tosser by all accounts. i think he has been done before for fraud and i think there is a named police officer who looks into new cases alleged fraud by him.

as another poor student i sympathise fully with your plight. unfortunately it's unlikely you'll see the money again but this forum is a decent place and everyone i've dealt with has been very decent. my advice is don't risk money you can't afford to lose, and for big purchases collect in person.

Just reading about him on all the other forums... He's got so much previous for fraud it's untrue... definitely go to the Police and definitely go through the courts, by all accounts you'll get your money back; I'm sure it will take a while, but the more people that do this, the longer his sentences will become.  By the sounds of it he's had a few kick in's for his troubles... these scumbags just don't learn. :fighting2:

Having read through lots of info, having 'googled' his name. He is registered under loads of different names, but uses 'Terri' on the uk-mkivs.net forum, which sounded familiar, as i had a few pm's from him on that site in reply to wanted posts.

Has made me question buying goods from forums again, despite all the genuine folk online.  :sad1:

It makes me mad when these things occur in a forum community setting between members.   :fighting:

Who did you pay when using your debit card? As you know you get no legal protection for purchases using one vs a credit card.
you'll have protection through your bank. You paid using a debit card fir goods....you didn't receive these good so your bank should be able to help. Also if you still have his bank details or anything bank related then go to his bank tell them what Happened and they will keep an eye on the account. I no because I work for a bank. Good luck

Just a thought, can't Steve P view IP addresses?

Surely the police could trace his location from this?

- always ask to see pictures with forum name/date on a card in each. - perhaps this could be made a requirement for all sales

I agree.. theres a number of other forums where this is a requirement..
Yes its a little bit more hassle for the seller but if they're genuine.. then they shouldnt really worry about it.. its a bit more security for the prospective buyer

If this is possible then that'd be great.
Shall I give Steve a PM?

True, but my thoughts are maybe he's moved since. I'd like to get his IP anyway, just to be sure.
