Hi there

Real PITA these rear wipers!  I've had to deal with several of them.

First off, if the pulling by hand method doesn't work, have you tried a dedicated 'wiper puller' tool?

If so, and this still wont shift it, then I would recommend cutting the side of the wiper arm where it goes over the motor spindle.  You can either use a hacksaw or a small angle grinder.  The outer plastic will give first allowing you to take the arm off and out of your way - this will leave you with a ring of alloy on the steel threaded section of the wiper spindle.  Now turn your cutting tool to this and it will give up its corroded bond.  Just make sure you cover your tailgate and bumper with a sheet to protect you glass and paintwork from swarf/grindings.

Obviously if the wiper is going back on you will need a new arm.

Hope this helps!

Thanx for your reply  :happy2: If I use the hacksaw method, will the motor be useless? Not sure if it is now as I've snapped off the jet washer in the process. Not sure if you can buy a new jet or its a sealed unit. Me & my crazy ideas   :ashamed:

If you are careful, you only need cut part of the way through.  You can then get a screwdriver in the slot and turn to open the cut up and split what is left of the ring off the motor shaft.

I'm not sure if you can replace the washer jets on the MK5 wiper motor but you can on the Mk4 - they are available over the counter at TPS/dealers.

It is a pain in the arse to remove. I just used a set of molegrips and a bit of brute strength and it came off. Use some wd40 to loosen it off. :happy2:

Not done the rear but when I needed to remove my front wipers to change out the mech.  if it wasn't for the special little tool you can buy I would've probably snapped the whole thing, they get almost welded to the splines over time - easy with the tool though. :happy2:

When I did mine mate, soaked it in WD40 for a day or two and left to soak. Still stiff, but gentle pulling got there in the end. Towel and a screw driver under the arm, GENTLE leaver it a bit at a time. Also pull the arm upright and back down a few times.
