VWR lowering springs / eibach arbs
« on: August 30, 2009, 06:05:13 pm »
fitted my new springs last week and thought i would drive the car for a week before posting my thoughts.

1st of all when the box arrived i thought there must be only 2 springs in the box as it was so light! but all 4 where there the front springs where amazingly light. i still had the h&r springs at home so weighed them both, in total the vwr springs were 3.2kg lighter   apparently the company that makes the springs (and kw springs) uses alloy spring metal blah blah over my head :scared:

the springs lowered the car 17mm from stock and looks factory i recon. the ride is as smooth if not better than stock i only noticed a difference in hard cornering, a little bit less body roll. i also fitted the eibach anti roll bars and have them on the lowest setting. in my opinion this setup is great for road use the car feels smooth but totaly planted absolutely no body roll. i dont do track days but for fast road i would recomend. really happy

I spoke with VWR at inters reg the springs being fitted rather than buying coilovers so i was interested in hearing your views of them fitted :happy2: looks good to. I dont know if its the way the pics been taken but some spacers may finish it of?

yeh i think your right, i think the rear could do with 10mm, not sure if its worth all the messing around with long bolts tbh.

the bars dont squeek, i used silicon greese when i fitted them instead of the ptfe stuff that comes with it :happy2:
