Cheers for the welcome guys
Yep, of course black
is the best colour for the GTI, and from what I've read here it's the fastest colour too! My car is very clean but not perfect, there are a couple of stonechips and a small parking scuff that my local Chipsaway guy will be seeing too and one of the wheels is kerbed badly enough to warrant a refurb at Lepsons, but other than that it's a very tidy car, 34k on the clock and one owner from new who I know personally as he works for me!
It already has a Stage 1 Bluefin map on it, but it really could do with a Stage 2 upgrade and it does feel pretty wobbly after the Elise so I might just have to stiffen things up a bit with a few suspension mods but my priority now is to get all the toys sorted out inside the car. As you can see in the photos, it doesn't have a MFSW which is annoying, I believe that's just a matter of adding the buttons instead of the blanking panels on the GTI wheel and recoding via VAG-Com but still not 100% sure, anyone else done this?.
Also, it has an Alpine IVA-W200Ri fitted at the moment which is just a bit, well, pikey for my liking. Whist it has the sat-nav and iPod options it doesn't look anything close to standard and has a faint whiff of Halfords about it. So, that'll be removed so I can fit an RNS-510 with iPod and bluetooth. Whilst I'm at it I think I'll retrofit cruise control too and ultimately it'll need some upgraded speakers, amp and sub but I want it all integrated and hidden away, basically looking as standard as possible. Right now it has an amp and a massive sub in a box in the boot and I hate it, it makes the boot unusable and I'm embarrassed to open it just in case anyone spots my "wicked sub innit" fighting for space with my shopping - It has to go!
