Just out of curiosity really, standard car other than remap, what MPG will you likely get?

Depends how you drive. About the same I would say. Maybe slightly less.

I agree with Edd, Mine didn't really alter until I put my foot down. Definitely a worthy upgrade  :happy2:

Since I've been R-Tech stage 1 I have noticed on average I am getting 2-3 mpg more on the standard driving which is a mix of motorways and town driving BUT and its a big BUT it is just as easy, if not easier (purely because its now so much fun) to drop well below what I was getting pre remap!

I say get it mapped by R-Tech, save yourself about £200 from most other tuners and put that towards a few months fuel, you wont be disappointed!!  :driver: :driver: :driver:

Definitely dependant on how you drive it... normal driving I find it slightly better than standard; but it stands to reason if you want the extra performance when you ask for it (WOT) then it's going to need more fuel, hence a big drop in MPG. :happy2:

I have already enquired with R-Tech and this is what spurred on this thread. I'm not far up the road from them so it will definately be them i go to :)

^^^^ This!  :happy2:

Had my stage 2 custom R-Tech map a week now and (apart from needing an upgraded clutch straight away) I couldn't give a monkeys about mpg but when driving normally its about the same, no better, no worse.

The maps for fun, enjoy it.

 true - but I used the map's power when I wanted to and for the rest of the time in rush hour traffic,  I had no choice but to drive as before  :sad1:

My mpg went up about 2-3 mpg after a stage 1 revo map but then leveled out over time to roughly the same

Mpg went up all of my cars after a remap, mind you the before and after dyno graphs showed my old scirocco gti running very lean at 3-5k rpm on stock map which to me shows how bad the factory map was!

Strangely i also found my right foot got heavier after remapping

Mine improved...GIAC pump performance tune-92 octane(US) and a P-flo intake was all at the time. I got 28.5 mpg average as a DD to work 5 days a week. I was at 27.5 mpg before the tune.
