ITG Queries
« on: October 30, 2013, 08:07:44 am »
Hi All,

Was just wondering i recently got myself a ITG Maxogen (STAB99VAGTSIBT) intake for my stock 10 Mk6 GTI , Initially i wanted to get the smaller one (STAB99VAGTSI) which i was told was good for Stock to Stage 1 Application

But i knew that i would be changing my turbo in the near future hence i decided to go for the bigger intake, thing is if i were to install this "BIGGER" intake on a ko3 (stock turbo) without a tune yet and go for a road trip. Would i have any problems? Or should i just leave the car alone until i perphas get a 3" downpipe than install the biggy intake and go for a tune on a ko3 stock turbo and hopefully the tuner is able to smooth it out? hmmmm

Mk6 has an IHI not K03 anymore... I very much doubt it will cause any problems... But I would hazard a guess that the low end torque will be slightly less with the bigger intake.

Thanks for the prompt reply dude, am still learning since i got the car not too long ago. hmmm wonder what IHI turbo is it though hahah coming from a JDM scene. I;m ok with the loss of low end as i;m used to little or no low-end at all, thing is i;ll be going for a road trip soon and was thinking if its wise to fit it on to enjoy the woosh sound n perhaps some performance once the ECU re-learns or should i not touch it and let it first till i get a 3" dp foloowed by a tune hmmm

IHI RHF5 on a EA888 I think.

If I was you I'd fit it and take your standard pipes and air box with you too. :happy2:

The tune is where the real fun is at...

You've came from a Honda too haha?

You'll be fine with it being fitted now, as said it will just alter performance somewhere but it won't kill your car!
