Airbag removal..?
« on: November 02, 2013, 05:55:17 pm »
I've read a few different things with regards to this.
I'm buying a Polo 6R (2011) steering wheel for my MK5, and it doesn't come with an airbag.
Could I leave the airbag out and disable it using vagcom to stop the light appearing?
Or could I possibly fit my old airbag to the Polo wheel?

You can't code out the airbag
You can put a resistor on the steering wheel.  2.2 or 4.7 ohm resistor.

The polo airbag MIGHT fit not sure.

Okay cool, I'll try that out, thanks very much!
I saw a picture you posted in a seperate thread about a seat airbag, is the connector the same for the wheel airbag?

Not sure, never had to mess around with it personally.

I think it's a similar design.
