Right, I've decided my beloved GTI needs a thorough going over before the winter and to make sure its running spot on. (It had a full VW service at 78k when I bought the car)
I'm going to fork out for another full service, plus ask the garage to look at:
- Check cam follower
- New diverter valve - revision G or Forge (looking to go Stage 1)
- Check Fuel Pump
- Check charcoal canister and piping (last vagcom report showed up P0441 - 002 - Incorrect Flow - Intermittent from Emission Control Sys)
- Check intake manifold runner v157 (last vagcom report showed up P3137 - 001 - Basic Setting not Completed - Intermittent from Intake Manifold Runner Control)
- Check PCV
- Check Cam Tensioner (to hopefully cut down the dreaded diesel idle sound)
- Check Plugs, Leads and Coil
- Reset DSG basic settings using vagcom (1st and 2nd aren't quite as smooth as they were when I bought the car)
- Check starter motor as cold starts isn't as smooth as I'd like
- Look into vagcom fault code P0642 - 002 - Low - Intermittent from Sensor Reference Voltage A: Circuit
- Check Bushes and steering rack - minor play in steering from centre point
Can anyone suggest anything else that needs checking please?
Cheers, Andy
