Brake caliper colour change.. what to go for...
« on: November 10, 2013, 09:37:19 pm »
Thinking of a change but Im bored of black, and everyone seems to be going for red...

Any other suggestions?? Was thinking white might be different but will get dirty quick?

Or something more conspicuous like orange or an electric blue??

Bounce some ideas on meeee  !!

it depends on car, wheel colour really I would do anything to bright but that's just me I prefer subtle colours like black

Not got the car yet.. got my eye on a couple of them. Will either be metallic grey or the sky blue mk6 most likely.

And aside from braking power, big brakes look naughty!! So making them more obvious is better?

Am considering white now, not too larey and bright enough to see easily provided I keep them clean  ??

Hurry up and buy one
White would look nice if you kept them clean, especially with a nice decal.

I think grey is the best colour  :booty:
Can't wait to eventually see it all transformed.

ive had a few colours .....

Yellow R32 Brakes - current

White GTI Brakes

Blue GTI Brakes on my caddy

Orange GTI Brakes on my caddy

so some options there!

re the white, unless you plan to clean the calipers every weekend they will turn yellow. thats the only thing i didn't like about them!

going to have to repaint my yellow in the spring as they've chipped a little of having the suspension changed.

Thanks everyone!

Im gonna try white calipers first, and then do contrasting coloured carrier pad retaining clips to keep it a bit subtle but interesting at the same time!!

So white calipers, carriers and black/red/blue retaining clips... Pics to come very soon!!
