Small/discrete Subwoofer
« on: November 26, 2013, 11:25:16 am »
Im looking to instal a small sub into my golf and plug it into the factory head unit, I only want something very small to provide extra bass. I have recently been in a mates Audi A3 with Bose sound system which has a small 40watt sub which provides a decent amount of bass. I want to install something similar into my car, im looking for any information that may help me and recomendations. I have seen options that fit under a seat or can be hidden away such as the Pioneer TS-WX210A although it seems quite expensive, prehaps a similar option? I would also concider building an enclosure to fit into the side of the boot if this is a more cost effect method.

Any info/help would be great

Cheers

Would be interested in people's opinions too. Just upgraded the rcd300 to a later 310 and added rear speakers in to the other halfs golf however it's still lacking somewhat. Ideally didn't want to add a sub in the boot including the side mount- not unless it's really discreet like our audi a3 Bose boot set up.

P.s I am sure this will get moved into he audio section

Hi mate, that would be my best case scenario installing something like an A3 bose sub (if it is possible) so that its hidden, otherwise i know you can get small space saving or under seat subs which i wouldnt mind attaching to the side of the boot (depending on how good they are)

p.s i couldnt find the audio section when writing this but on closer inspection i can see its in the modification area. woops!

Might be an option for 'Group Buy' if the right option at the right price.
I'd be interested.
I seem to recall a custom made sub box that fitted into the space on the left in the boot I saw somewhere. I can't afford to lose much boot room and an underseat unit would interfere with the heater outlets which are already under the seats. That might not be a problem for some - but I do have to carry rear seat passengers!
