You likely need a powered amplifier, they are under a tenner on ebay. Forgot the part number but if you search on ebay you'll see some variants.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

You either need

http://www.roadradio.com/wiring-fascia-adaptors/PC5-136/5973/

or

http://www.roadradio.com/wiring-fascia-adaptors/CT27AA25/5975/

depending on whether your existing aerial connection is a single or twin fakra.  Connect the blue with to a 12v+ power source and the aerial amplifier will have power and you'll get a decent signal.
Black 2008 GTi, InPro smoked door mirror indicators, genuine Autohaus Wolfsburg plate holders, uk legal pressed metal plates, LED number plate lights, MTEC super white headlights & side lights, LED internal lights, Polo stubby aerial, Kenwood DDX4023BT head unit & Enfig surround.

There was two options. A plug on back of stereo has two inputs looks like it didn't match harness but there is one plug from original harness that goes into it so get the reception hope this helps I'll try get a pick of mine
