I do have a twitter account though, but i pretty much use that as a news reader for various car\game related things.

We have a Facebook account, don't really use it, don't really know how it all works TBH. 

Lots of peeps telling you what they've done today etc, all very odd, I doubt even my nearest or dearest give a sh*t what I did today re work, rest or play. We use it to look at what the kids and other family members are up to.

Keep getting friend requests from people I went to school with, didn't like them then, not going to like them now.  :stupid:

It has a place in today's society I suppose.

Facebook is what you want it to be. You can turn off notifications from Fb Friends if you don't happen to enjoy what they post about, and you can of course delete someone from your list of Fb Friends (like richwig did to me a few weeks ago) at any time you wish.

You have a lot of control of how and who interacts with you on facebook - It's all in the settings if you bother to look.

It's no better or worse than any internet forum of communication - It's up to you to use it and control it as you prefer.

I deleted it three years ago and wow first couple weeks were hard lol. Picking up phone and realising I didn't need to.!.!. I recently logged on just through sheer boredom sat in hospital with me misses. Safe to say I deactivated it within ten minutes for the same reason I did three years ago!!! I don't wanna read all the people gagging for likes rubbish statuses no more. I do miss some
Stuff tho like keeping in contact with people and birthdays and seeing photos etc but not enough for me to have it again. I did debate a while back making a new profile just with the people I want to hear from ie family and close friends and the groups you can join. Hasn't happened tho lol Facebook sucks ass and is poison that's my view on it.

....In my case I am very glad indeed to be back in contact with some people I had lost contact with and it has resulted in very positive things such as a party in Chelsea and an open invitation to a house in the South of France and a roadtrip to the Highlands of Scotland next Spring.

I have made some very nice new friends as well, especially through belonging to facebook interest groups and also running one myself. There is much more to life than just great cars, much as I love them as well, and facebook has opened that up.

Apart from my daughter who lives with me and who is very independent, I don't have baggage such as a wife or small children etc, and so it suits my lifestyle very well for keeping in touch with people and arranging to do a wide variety of things together as and when it suits me.

Very true and I couldn't agree more. We too have contacted and been contacted by both friends and relatives we've lost touch with over the years and mine and my wife's lives are better for it.
