Great new mods!  :congrats:

Those Turinis would also look awesome. It will come down to the price you can get them and your personal preference. Many great options available.

Was going to pull the trigger on the exact wheels you've just got. The day I was going to get them Tyre Leader sold their last set in stock.  :sad1:

EDIT:  Just twigged.....did you buy their last set?

No, I bought them in Lisbon, Portugal. I had to wait a couple more weeks than the initial projected time because the factory had some issues producing this specific colour.

Sounds like that CTS discharge kit is a worth upgrade, was upset when I thought they didn't make a K03 turbo version but a quick browse of the website showed they do! Already fired an e-mail off to AKS Tuning for a quote to get them fitted along with some other bits.

Would be interested to see if makes a difference to your power figures or more importantly, the power curve and delivery.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Speedline Turini are beautiful and suit the Mk5 very well. I don't know of any other 11 spoke wheels out there either. Something about number eleven I like, maybe because of that Father Ted episode.

I think they've made a difference BUT as I say it may be a placebo effect. I treat it as a supporting mod to aid flow anywho.

On the subject of flow (and following R-Tech Niki's results) I may consider adding a BCS Decat Downpipe, runner flap delete, inlets cleaned, even bigger BIG IC and a map tweek for a stage 2++ feel. Niki's ED30 is around 375bhp and 400+ ft lb so that should be achievable on mine with current mods and without WMI.

Hay PJ  :drinking:

Yeap, the more I look at pictures of the Turini's the more im leaning towards getting them. I can't find it now but I saw a picture of a red Mk5 Golf with Anthracite Turini wheels on, looked stunning IMO.

Mini Update...

Alex at AKStuning fitted a new Thermostat, the CTS Turbo Throttle Pipe, CTS Outlet (Discharge) Pipe and the Unibrace UB style Chassis Brace yesterday.

She now feels so much more responsive and "appears" to rev/spool with more purpose, it may all be a placebo effect but it's there, not sure if it is the new stat, the pipes or a combo of both! Forgot to take any pictures of the bits fitted but not the most interesting of things so ho hum.

CTS Turbo Pipes....

Info (below) on the CTS Pipes from PSI Tuning where I bought them from.

CTS Turbo Outlet (Discharge) Pipe...

The CTS Turbo Outlet Pipe is designed to replace the narrow 'pancake' pipe that comes as factory equipment on your vehicle.

Our Turbo Outlet Pipe features 2.25" diameter aluminum tube for optimized flow. The CNC machined billet mating flange makes connecting this TOP to your FMIC literally a snap. The billet anodized turbo to TOP connector, 2.25" coupler and premium clamps top this package off. If you're looking for a simple bolt on modification that will optimize flow and increase power, then this part is for you.

The OEM charge piping leaves something to be desired with inefficient bends, blockages not optimized for performance. The CTS Turbo throttle pipe increases the entire inside diameter to 2.5" allowing for increased flow and greater performance. The integrated water methanol bung allows for simple and straight forward installation of kits from Snow Performance. All of the components included in the CTS throttle pipe kit work flawlessly together to provide increased efficiency, horsepower and torque throughout the entire power band and an aggressive race inspired sound.

Product Details:
- Mandrel bent aluminum piping with black powder coating
- CNC machined MAP flange
- DV relocation/noise pipe bung
- 4 Ply silicon connectors with stainless steel clamps
- Integrated water methanol bung with plug
- Stainless steel clamps

Also took a punt on the brace, at only £120 it's a fraction of the price of a genuine Unibrace UB Brace so was happily surprised when it all fitted fine. Not sure if it adds anything to the party but it feels as if it has tightened things up (more placebo maybe).

Link to where I purchased the brace.....

Brace.....

Future plans are all sorted too, booked in for.......

H&R Monotube Coilovers
Audi Top Mounts
SuperPro Ball Joints
Superpro Poly bush all remaining bushes
Fit Autotech Front Anti Roll Bar
AKS 4 Wheel Alignment

I still need to decide on wheels too! Alex further confused things by recommending Speedline Turini wheels in Anthracite.

Oh those Turini's

Martin, your Ed30 certainly has changed over the years. I remember you saying you wouldn't mod anything as you wanted to keep it standard.

I thought the same thing too back in 2008  :innocent:

You have an Awesome Mod list now buddy  :notworthy:
