ED 30 Heated wing mirrors, stupid question time.
« on: December 28, 2013, 02:19:23 pm »
Hi guys.

Really stupid question here, but how do you turn on the heated wing mirrors on an 08 GTI Edition 30.

The left right mirror adjustment knob has got three positions. To the bottom L 0 R and to the top one at top centre pointing to a heated mirror but when pushed up the round switch returns to normal.

Any advice will be appreciated. :happy2:

neil.

You need to rotate the knob so that the indicator position on it points to the heated mirror position at 12 o'clock.
Without traction power is nothing!

One thing to mention - I thought that if you switched it to the heated position they would work when you turned the heated rear screen. Turns out (correct me if I'm wrong) that they are permanently on when the switch is in that position ... So I drove around with them switched on permanently for 3 months in the summer  :stupid:

iirc they don't turn on if it's above 10C outside.
