As title,....just backed the car out at a slightly odd angle and crished the passenger door mirror on the door frame of the garage...... :sad1:
The crunch made me feel sick... Thankfully, no bodywork damaged, just the wing mirror.

Mirror lense broken.
Indicator broken, no longer blinks/flashes
Over casing split.

Ok, so I have just got back from a scrap yard and they had a Silver Passenger side wing mirror.....so bought it. :rolleye:

It is the entire unit (inc part that bolts onto the door.

How the hell does one fit these things?
Take off the Door card??

Would I need to disconnect the battery at all (plug new mirror in to existing wiring)?

Total noob when it comes to things like this...comments / links to "How to " guides most welcome !

Ade  :sad1: :sad1:

This guide should help. Take your time, it is a fiddly job.

Thanks for the link, however this looks like just for the covers?  Anyone know of a comprehensive guide for the entire removal / fitting?
Or is it a job for a Haynes Manual?

Do you need to replace the whole thing?

I would assume the complete mirror removal is quicker and easier than the cover and indicator swap. I'm not sure how to take it all off? Look at your new unit and see how it fixes.... It's probably door card off job but may just be the trim above the door card if your lucky.

Door card needs to be removed to replace the whole mirror assembly. With the door card removed you can remove the black plastic trim on the inside of the mirror to access the screws. The mirror is connected to the door control module. All will make sense when the door card and trim is removed!

just start undo'ing screws it will be obvious had mine in bits several times... I've always found that taking a snap every now and again as you dismantle you can check when you put it back together...

good luck
