Vw are £34 plus vat for pcv and £18 plus vat for pcv gasket.
I cant afford £60 if its not the pcv.
All the tests show pcv working fine.
There was a 12degree difference between acctual engine temp and what it said on vag.com/ temp gauge.
So unplugged temp sensor and engine stopped idling erratically. ??
So i thought i would start here

Ok... Well do this for me. Find the PCV and take the connector off the intake manifold.... Now blow down that pipe. Report back.

Additionally, is it normally the check valve that foobar's, would it be dislocated in the pipe'per'ridge.

Another solution... book your car into VW for a winter check, iirc it's about £20, you get a free oil or winter pack, both worth about £15... they will give the car a full going over, scanning it etc. etc. and report back with any faults and parts (with part numbers and blown diagrams) of problem areas... which is normally worth about £60 on its own. :happy2:

So on my lunch 15 i changed the pcv.
Not had chance to drive the vehicle yet but upon blowing down the pipe from inlet. I couldnt it was closed. But i could suck and it was clear.
To me that sounds like pcv was fine ???

Well just got home and about to go for a drive,
Just ripped apart the old pcv and the diaphram had a 1inch split.
Do we think this could be causing the problems  :happy2:

Easy fella, it's just a bit of banter.

You're gonna get a bit of sh*t from people who've been practically screaming PCV for over a week  :signLOL:
