Leak in passenger side footwell and glove box - HELP
« on: January 20, 2014, 11:06:19 am »
Did a search on this and couldn't find anything!

Last week with all the heavy rain we've been having lately, I noticed the car was starting to smell a bit damp. Over the weekend I looked in my glove box and there was a small puddle and mould!

Checked the carpets and they were soaked as well on the passenger side. Im guessing this is pollen filter related or something but have no idea really! Just after some advise before i take it to the dealer. Hopefully you guys have had some past experience of this

Cheers!

This may not help, but my wife's Passat sprang a leak when the bulkhead grommet around the bonnet release came adrift.  I couldn't believe how much water got in, but all sorted thanks to www.vgsuk.com.

Might be worth looking from the engine bay, in case it's something similar.

Good luck.

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.

No sunroof!

Thanks mate, will have a look tomorrow in the light and see if I can see anything!

i wasn't being funny asking about the sunroof, as thats what the problem with mine was, the drain off channels from the sunroof were blocked causing my footwells to become wet.
always a tricky one good luck.
