i'd still have the GT3RS over the ED30 anyday....

besides, how much opportunity do you get to do that kinda straight line acceleration day to day?

throw some corners in and you would NOT see which way the porker went. Simples.

And as for the S3 sticking to the GT3 in scotland in the RAIN.... 4WD vs RWD in the wet ain't exactly fair is it.

You're right, any idiot can drive an S3 very quickly, it's close to foolproof. You can get in an S3 and drive it at 95% within an hour. With the Porker (like with the M3) you start out at 60-70% (depending on your skills) and move the game on learning all the time.

It's not hard to be quick in a straight line in the dry, it's much harder to stop in a straight line (from 150mph+)  :scared:

The wife borrows my car (as she has a company pool car and there is no point having another car for now). Letting her out in a 350+bhp car only made sense if it had a safety net eg. Quattro (well Haldex!) as I don't want her/it in a ditch, as she is no Sabine Schmidt. Likewise I'm no Stig, so when I ended up braking then hitting someone elses oil at the end of Castle Combe main straight at Audi Driver International in 2007 I was glad of the support!

I wouldn't say the rain was affecting the porsche drivers attitude in his driving skill :signLOL:

no it wouldnt :happy2: driver skill! what putting your foot down from 30???? 3 car lenths from 30 to 130 or whatever it is alot mate, i agree that it looks good on video, but if you were on autobahn and that happened you would feel a tool for even trying! and yes a 330bhp golf is made for straight line speed whoever said that!what is it for?????

A golf gti, leon cupra, is a hothatch, meaning it has to be a all rounder, ok straightline pace, ok handling, practical and economical. Just because it has 330hp doesnt mean its built for straightline pace.

It just seems like a thread I would expect to see on a corsa forum.it nearly kept up with a porche! If that what floats your boat! I have seen plenty on track and even the ones driven by tools come past on straights faster than any golf ever has!
:signLOL:

Do some youtubing of some quick golfs on the track and see what happens.

Do you know how fast the leon Cupra supercopas lap tracks?

No one here is denying that the porsche isnt the better car, or that anyone here would have our hothatch over the golf, but when a 20k car with a few mods can keep up with a porsche in a straight line that is impressive.

Just imagine if you stripped a stage 2 golf out like the porsche, the gap would have been closer.

Still stage 1 mate, I am gonna try and save up some pennies when I get back from the Ring and go stage 2+ and DSG map in one hit. My aim is to get in the mid-low 12s  :happy2:
