Add Bluetooth capability to MP3 stereo
« on: January 27, 2014, 09:23:18 pm »
So I have the OEM stereo which has mp3 written on it, not sure what rcd or rns number it is, has arm rest iPod connection. Is there anyway I can connect Bluetooth capability to it?

you have an RCD300 MP3 , id go for a handsfree kit that allows pairing as that head units is very low spec and don't think you can get an OEM one
MDI Armrest & Glovebox kits
MDI looms , iPod, USB & lightening Iphone 5 leads
Armrests, cloth and leather
Retro fit Armrest 6 CD changer/Ipod dock kits

hmm ok, i keep hearing about these being a low spec unit....would be advantageous to swap the unit then do you think...for perhaps a unit with built in bluetooth?

when i 1st got the car, and saw the unit, i thought it had 6 cd capability due to one of the screens showing 6 cd buttons....i guess that is for a seperate cd changer?

it depends on how much you want to spend, if you want to keep it original you can go for the RCD310, a very good unit. you will need to change your can bus (use the search bar) loads of threads on how to fit.

If you just want the capabilty to make/receive calls get something like the Parrot CK3100, i have one up for sale if you're interested. No coding needed, just need to plug it into the quadlock loom at the back of the stereo then run the power wire into the fuse box. Job done :)
