Just bought some OEM xenons..
« on: February 07, 2014, 09:54:48 pm »

Now can someone clarify what, exactly, I will need for these to work properly?

Will I need any canbus stuff?

What about the shutters, can someone post a link of how these will be operated?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There are guides of how to wire up the Bi-xenon shutter. You need to wire it to a pin in the CECM.

Plenty of info on this site as well.
You need VCDS to enable the xenons too.

Cheers mate.

It looks quite complicated. I was hoping they'd be a bit more 'plunge and play' !

It's not really hard at all  :scared:

Use plug adaptors and VCDS and they work fine..
Bi-xenons is run one wire, not hard :)

Yeah I'll second that. The lights are easy to fit/ wire up, but if you don't have a highline cecm unit you won't your bi xenon won't work.

You can use any of the cecm's you just need to know which byte and bit to tick? The tick box is there it's just there's no description at the side so your shooting blind! But if you know which it is it will work.

Not sure what you mean by load sensors. If you want to just install the headlights you'll need an adapter lead or you can go for a full installation including washer jets and levelling sensors. The latter will not be cheap!!

Just for clarity. You DO NOT need to install washer jets and levelling sensors for the car to pas an MOT

Installing leveling sensors is on my list of mods, I just need one more sensor which is proving to be a PITA to find.

Hi mate, do you have a link to the plug adapters that you're talking about? I received a message from a forum member, just to let me know that they're selling some kufatec xenon conversion things. Is this what you're talking about?

My car has the full  highline cecm. So I should be ok to go? I'll have to borrow a VCDS from somewhere though.

What parameters need changing on it?
