Stage 2+ dsg

Hi, Does anyone have experience of mapping their DSG box only when they got to stage 2+? I'm trying to decide if I should just get mine mapped and enjoy the full benefits, or if the mapped box holds onto gears longer making the car feel less relaxed during normal driving
