Right so I finally got all the parts for my custom air intake and fitted this morning.
Some issue I have which I am not sure if anything needs doing is:
In below pic the you can see the hose joiner on the end of the bend is slightly touching the Battery cover. Now not sure if this would be an issue to be honest as I presume neither get extremely hot so would not be an issue. One option if need to resolve would be to trim down the hose joiner that initially connects to the OEM part which would move the whole intake to the left by a few mm's and solve the issue.
My next issue is in the tutorial I followed it advises to connect the small 8mm bore pipe (pic below) removed from the old intake into the barb on the underside of the bend. I am confused as to what this means. Is there supposed to be an opening on the aluminum bend for this to slot into as if so mine has not got one. Or do I even need this pipe connected anywhere or just taped away from view.
I am also one jubilee clip down as one was the wrong side so the air duct is pretty tight on the carbon air filter connection so fine for now but need a clip to secure it at some point. Also my carbon air filter did not have the directional arrows to advise me which way to fit it. However looking at a normal Air Filter like K&N the wider side fits onto the end of the aluminum tube so I have fitted mine in this way as can see the file direction inside.
Any help would be great guys. I am now going out to fit my new Oil Filter which I am hoping is as straight forward as the Intake
