My trip 2 currently says 34.8 I think. Can't remember over how many miles that is, as I never reset it, it just rolls over and does it when it clips the mileage limit on trip 2. Over a typical 12 month period, mine is probably averaging around 33 mpg. 07 Stg1 DSG GTI.

Can I join in :happy2: don't have a GTI but not so dissimilar engine albeit a bit more powerful

Short journeys and honing it about reading 24mpg at moment?

Best long run 37.8mpg

Funnily enough when I was bluefinned I would get approx 26mpg round town and 37.8mpg above was with the bluefin.

I reset the second trip when i picked up the car and that's read a solid 30.0mpg over 2500miles . Usual pottering about town/Country roads i average about 24-26mpg and on the work run (M1 8 miles and dual carriageway 2 miles and  1.5 miles on a straight a road) i get 39-41mpg. I never get foot down on way to work because its work and i don't want to be there any quicker than i have to be. :scared:

Since getting the stat replaced I now always get above 20mpg on short/town journeys.

Motorway is now always above 30mph usually around 33mpg

A roads are usually around 35mpg. Could get higher on all of the above but that would take the fun out of having a gti!

Got this today on  a 170 mile trek up the motorway, cruise set to 70 the whole way. Think I'd have to really try hard to get anything higher!

Agree completely, the long term average is 27 and I've been making full use of the power! Just thought it'd be interesting to see what it does over a long motorway cruise.

Mine averaged 28-35 average  then had a stage one mapp now I average 38-42 driving moderately. But of I drive like miss daisy I can see 45mpg but that is so boring one I saw on the average setting only once was 48.

But on the general it's 38-42
This was the reason I went for the gti as it does good mpg and is quick fun.

Got this on the return journey today:

Again just sticking to speed limits and using cruise control, but not driving with economy in mind. Must have been the warmer weather!
