no, warranty managers have been sent a bulletin saying cars up to 10 years old are eligible for the wings to be sorted, and as the guy at vw said paint work is a grey area every case can be different nothing is clear cut so you cant anticipate what will happen in your case going by someone else's experience, you just have to book a slot and get your car looked at

Dropped my golf off at the bodyshop today and picked up this little beaut!

Its a bag of nails, steering is so vague you get nothing and then it suddenly turns, when it does turn you roll out your seat and get sea sick, it doesn't accelerate, it gradually increases in speed, sounds like a tractor, and the boot is better described as a luggage compartment

my 9yr old golf with 84k feels better than this car a few months old with 9k

Do you know if that 10 year warranty includes wings that have already been replaced? Both mine were changed by previous owner by VW through warranty but the passenger side has started to bubble slightly again. Also was it a quote from VW you were getting for colour coded side skirts and splitter? I too am looking to get that done but can't decide whether to get the edition 30 splitter or not

not a clue mate, i would've thought it would, its still their fault that they are rusty and if its still under 10 yrs old then i think they have to do it, but just pop in to your nearest dealership takes minutes to book an appointment with a warranty guy, then he only takes about 10min to take readings from the car then within days i had the phone call from the bodyshop was very pleased

i havent got a quote yet as it was all a bit rushed this morning ill try to ask someone when i pick the car up, its all very executive there lol its not like some back street bodyshop, you dont even see a worker that gets their hands dirty just an office with computers and women lol i wanted a ed30 splitter and r32 rear bumper but ill be happy with just it all c/c with some nice shiny tail pipes, bit of de-badging, maybe a de-wiper and some r32 rear lights, i think that'll smarten up the rear end loads

their website quoted me £180 for my 18" wheels to be refurbed which seems reasonable

bodyshop rang me up today again to inform me that the wings are being replaced as the rust had eaten through so it couldn't be repaired (to vw's standard) which im very happy about

Picked my car up yesterday morning and very happy with the results, all in the guy said its about £800 worth of work done :D I got him to start writing me up a quote to c/c all the plastic bits, refurb the wheels and he said instead of re-painting the rear nearside quarter panel (badly scratched and key'd) he can machine polish it for an hours labour to get it 80% better it guessed
