Removing engine cover & oem clips

Decided that I was going to attempt fitting my catch can today.. All I can say is I failed horribly.. Couldn't even get the engine cover off.. Felt like I was going to snap the thing! Any tips?


Also do u need a specialist tool to remove the oem clips.. I tried to remove the one that holds the funnel for the air filter on the right hand side of the engine.. Can't see any way to remove without snapping it.. Can they be re used?

Don't remove it, just take out the torx screws on the scoop and don't loose the retaining clips for the screws.

Engine cover, best way I've found. 12" adjustable against the battery with a bit of cloth against it to stop it scuffing and the other side under the intake part of the cover that's quite thick again with a bit of cloth and pivot it off the battery box to lift it up. Takes about 5 seconds and you'll be left with the front right one still attached that's piss easy to get by its self.

Stealthwolf did a nice little guide for this but generally it is much easier when warm and start at the top right when viewed from the front. 

The front intake part just unclips once you take the top off.

To the OP, you don't need to remove the 'funnel' unless you're opening the cover to swap airfilters.
