mine had lots of the grease in there  :confused:

What - between the inner and outer yellow bits?  You need to dis-assemble them from how they are supplied to get much more grease in them.  I'm guessing that on yours, only the metal hex end of the TCA was greased.  How many miles did yours do before they let go?

I was thinking of having this fitted along with upgraded springs - not so sure now :surprised:  How many miles had the car done with the WALK?

The WALK makes a noticeable, if subtle diference even when the rest of the suspension is completely standard.  It improves self-centreing of the steering, straight-line directional stabilty, steering 'turn-in', steering mid-corner feel and stability - along with traction on turns.  Go for it, but make sure there is loads of grease applied to BOTH parts of the bushings.

Ok, thanks :happy2:  So the failure here is to do with fitment rather than the kit itself?

Well - sort of stretching a theory to extremes on the failure bit.  Yes, the lack of grease will have a contributory factor to the failure - but there are probably also other issues too, such as severely lowered suspension (which the yanks seem to be keen on), other modified suspension components, being a track whore, etc.

As Tony Danza stated, Whiteline have a very good reputation, and I strongly bet that there are considerably more users of the WALK who have had ZERO probs with them, compared to two worldwide published failures!  :wink:

Hmmm . . . that doesn't actually look like a 'failure' - because the main 'body' of the bush is still perfect.  Or have I missed sommat?

I think I was one of the first to fit them, over 12 months ago - done 15k, 2 ring trips and 5 track days. I have the car checked after each event and they're still 100%.

They've been making these for Subarus for years, so it isn't exactly new technology.

I'd say:

Dodgy batch.. or most likely incorrect fitting, failure to align suspension properly after fitting or as TT said and IMO too, dry joints.

Yeah, it was your rather excellent report on the 'dark side' which got me spreading their praises on the GTI forum. :happy2:

And anyone who knows me by know will understand that I'd only give the thumbs up to products which actually make a positive benefit for the average to enthisiastic road user - and these really do hit the sweet spot. :wink:

its a 2 bush item ie one big outer bush and a smaller one inside and the pic was just a quick one and if u like i will take them to a better location and get the tripod out and use my better cam  :P

I'm also at > 15k miles on the WALKit and its fine , I havent done track days nor have danza's talent but I dont hang about either  :driver:

Surprisingly, nothing has failed or worn at an abnormal rate given what it has had to deal with. My old MKIV would have certainly been through a set of topmounts and wishbone bushes in the same circumstances.

Mat, did you ever grease the bushes in that 30k? I try doing it as often as I can with white lithium.
