Caliper paint
« on: May 18, 2014, 11:00:27 pm »
Hi all,

Looking to re paint my calipers. Any recommendations on firstly the best red paint to use (was thinking of a colour change but think I'll stick to red) and the best method?

Thanks in advance

That looks decent. Did you just give them a clean over and then paint on the existing finish?

Yeah I cleaned the gunk and crap off with white spirit then gave them a little rubbing down with sandpaper to get the flakey bits off then painted them with 2 coats

I think the red hammerite really pops behind the black TD's now. Few people at work today said " have you painted your brake thingys " I'm impressed with the colour finish

best thing about it is you have loads left and can redo them when ever you want, as a posed to a one off deal with the caliper paint

Prep is most important thing.

Hammerite is perfectly fine if you take your time

We wet sprayed mine...
